Ordinary and Premium Prize Amounts Are Not Directly Comparable

Rs.100, Rs.200, Rs.750 and Rs.1,500 are ordinary bearer National Prize Bonds.

Rs.25,000 and Rs.40,000 are registered Premium Prize Bonds. They have a different structure because Premium bonds also provide biannual profit and use registered ownership and direct bank credit for prize payments. National Savings currently describes both Premium denominations as registered products with quarterly draws and biannual profit.

So an Rs.40,000 Premium Prize Bond should not be compared with the old Rs.40,000 bearer bond using an outdated prize table.

For the differences in registration, profit, purchase and payment, see Rs.25,000 and Rs.40,000 Premium Prize Bonds.

What Happened to Rs.7,500 and Rs.15,000 Prize Bonds?

Older Prize Bond prize-detail pages often include:

  • Rs.7,500
  • Rs.15,000
  • old bearer Rs.25,000
  • old bearer Rs.40,000

Those denominations belong in a historical table, not the current prize-detail table.

The high-value bearer bonds were withdrawn from circulation, and after several extensions the final government deadline for their encashment or conversion was 31 December 2024.

Their old prize amounts may still be relevant when reading historical results, but they should not give a visitor the impression that these products can currently be purchased or participate in new draws.

See Discontinued Prize Bonds in Pakistan for the withdrawal history.

Prize Amounts Are Shown Before Tax

The amounts in the tables above are gross prizes.

National Savings currently states that Prize Bond winnings are subject to withholding tax at:

  • 15% for filers / persons appearing on ATL
  • 30% for non-filers / persons not appearing on ATL

Example

If a filer wins the Rs.1,500 Prize Bond First Prize of Rs.3,000,000:

Gross prize: Rs.3,000,000
15% withholding tax: Rs.450,000
Amount after that withholding: Rs.2,550,000

For a non-filer at 30%, the withholding would be Rs.900,000, leaving Rs.2,100,000 after that deduction.

For more calculations, see Prize Bond Tax for Filer and Non-Filer.

How to Check Whether Your Number Won

Knowing the prize amounts is only useful after you find a matching winning number.

Saving.com.pk’s Power Search can search available historical Prize Bond results. Enter the complete number exactly as printed on your bond, including leading zeros.

For example:

004381

should be searched as 004381, not 4381.

If your number matches a First, Second or Third Prize result, note the denomination and draw number and compare an important win with the corresponding official result before beginning a financial claim.

Prize Amounts Can Change

Prize structures are set through government notifications. They should not be treated as permanent merely because a particular amount has applied for many years.

Saving.com.pk therefore separates current Prize Bond prize details from historical structures.

If a future government notification changes the number or value of prizes, the current table on this page should be updated while historical draw pages should retain the prize structure applicable to their own period.

That distinction keeps both current information and old draw records meaningful.
